Evangelism Outreach

July 4th Celebration
Independence Day is one of the biggest days in the Lawrenceville community, and First United Methodist Church is the place to be. The community is invited to join us, cost free, for children’s activities, live music, food, and drinks throughout the afternoon. In the evening, come get refreshed in the air-conditioned sanctuary for a patriotic concert by the combined choirs of FUMC. After the concert, we’ll all gather together on the front lawn of the church to watch the fireworks display at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Building across the street. We hope you’ll come out and celebrate freedom at FUMC on July 4th. For more information about the 4th of July at FUMC, email Allen Hoskyn or call (770) 963-0386, ext. 117.

Alpha Course
The Alpha Course is a 12-week study exploring the Christian Faith. If you've ever had questions about Christianity being boring or irrelevant, then the Alpha Course is the perfect setting for you to explore the basics of Christianity. The Alpha Course is for those who don't have experience with the Christian Faith or those who may even have experience in the church, but still have a lot of questions. This course will be offered several times throughout the year. For more information about the Alpha Course, email Rev. Sheri Smith or call (770) 963-0386 ext. 157.

Hospitality

Jam Ministry
The Jam Ministry is part of the continual hospitality and outreach to guests of FUMC of Lawrenceville. “Jam Ministers” provide different assortments of jam (the kind you put on your toast!) to those visiting the church. The Jam Ministry wants to show the continued love of God and provide visitors with a tangible gift of that love. Your bagel, biscuit, or toast will also be very pleased with the Jam Ministry! Members who would like to be Jam Ministers can email Allen Hoskyn or call (770) 963-0386, ext. 117.

Greeter Ministry
Greeters are the first contact for anyone who attends First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville. The purpose of our Greeter Ministry is to offer a warm smile and cheerful greeting to all those entering the church building. FUMC Greeters simply want to welcome all of God’s children. If you’re a guest, we hope you know that Greeters welcome everyone to FUMC because we believe God’s love is available to all. If you’d like more information about becoming a greeter, email Allen Hoskyn or call (770) 963-0386, ext. 117.

Sip-N-Share
Each Sunday morning from 9:00-9:30 am and 10:30-11:00 am, volunteers prepare coffee, ice water, and lots of scrumptious goodies for worshippers at FUMC of Lawrenceville. Sip-N-Share is free for all in attendance at any of the morning worship services and is a great time to fellowship and make new friends. It takes place in the Family Life Center. Won’t you come and get to know the people of FUMC at Sip-n-Share? If you’re interested in volunteering to be a part of the Sip-N-Share team, email Allen Hoskyn or call (770) 963-0386, ext. 117.
