If you haven't made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we are hoping that God is moving you in that direction. We want you to know the eternal life that God offers in Jesus and the peace that He gives in this life. If you feel like you are ready to make this commitment, we invite you to pray with us.
Use your own words, but use this as a guideline for asking Jesus into your life:
- Confess your sins to God (1 John 1:9)
- Ask for forgiveness of those sins through Jesus death on the cross (Colossians 2:13)
- Pledge to repent [turn away] from your past life through the cleansing Jesus gives you (Jeremiah 15:19)
- Profess your belief in Jesus Christ life, death, and resurrection (John 20:31)
- Ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior through your faith in Him (Romans 3:22-25)
- Thank God for loving you and saving you (1 Chronicles 16:8)
If you prayed through these steps, you have just made the most important decision of your life. If you've made this decision, it is so important that you contact someone to discuss what this new faith means for your life. We would love to talk to you, so please call Rev. Allen Hoskynat (770) 963-0386, ext. 117 or e-mail at
ahoskyn@fumclv.org. We want to help you grow in your faith, and connect with life in the church, whether that be at FUMC Lawrenceville or somewhere else. If you do not live in our area, we would still love to talk to you, but we think it is very important for you to become involved in a local church in order to have a support system for
your new-found faith.
If you are not ready to make this decision but would like to talk with someone about it, please feel free to contact us at the phone number or e-mail above. We have certainly enjoyed sharing our faith with you, and we pray that God would continue to move you toward a personal relationship with Christ.
First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville offers opportunities to learn more about Christianity and about our church. Alpha is a 12-week discussion of Christianity for those who are seeking answers to their questions. Pathfinders is a 3-week exploration of the path of Jesus and of FUMC Lawrenceville. Sweet Talk is a one-time gathering on a Sunday evening when guests can share "sweet" desserts and "talk" with ministers about this church and Christianity. All three are offered at various times throughout the year. Information is available in the Bulletin, or contact me at the number or email address above.
We wish God's blessings on you as you continue on your own faith journey.
