| Purpose: |
Rainbows (for children kindergarten through 8th grade) is a peer support organization that offers programs designed to help children in changing families as they deal with death, divorce, or step-family challenges. When children are grieving a loss, they are unable to concentrate and learn and their self-esteem declines. Through Rainbows, children regain valuable self-esteem and healing when they discover that their feelings are normal. Rainbows is not counseling or therapy, its support is like unpacking a suitcase full of feelings that is too heavy to carry. Special Note: It is important that your child(ren) not miss any sessions and arrive on time. Parents and children are encouraged to have supper and relax a little before the sessions start, so join us for dinner between 5:30-6:30pm in the Family Center. Small sharing group sessions led by trained facilitators/mentors will meet from 6:30-7:30pm. Please contact Rev. Sheri Smith, 770-963-0386, ext. 157 for more information. |
